Overview

Topco is currently seeking a Supply Planner to join our Supply Chain Center of Excellence in Itasca, IL. This position will be a hybrid role, with the successful candidate conducting work in our Itasca office three days per week and virtually two days per week. The purpose of the Supply Planner position is to (1) anticipate and maintain stock levels to ensure that customer demand is met​ (2) review alerts and manually adjust supply plan(s) on an ‘as needed’ basis  (3) review deviations of Consensus Demand Plans in relation with the supply plan and (4) manually adjust & review truck load plan. The Supply Planner is responsible for the creation of the SAP IBP supply inbound process. The supply planner must understand the details within a purchase plan, truck load builds from suppliers to Topco and the outbound process that manages a member’s allocation and order fulfillment and outbound process.

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with Demand Planning and Sourcing to ensure the right inventory levels are met, considering member’s demand attainment
  • Anticipate and maintain inventory stock levels to ensure Topco's product replenishment to Members runs smoothly
  • Responsible for the overall supply and purchase plan for the short, mid, and long term by working closely with the Sourcing/Category team​s
  • Work with Suppliers and Sourcing team on inventory flow strategies and plan how to ensure maximum member’s fill rate​
  • Strategically work with Suppliers to plan product flow, seasonal product movement as well as inventory adjustments to support promotional activities
  • Work with Member Services to resolve any issues from member's order fulfilment that requires Supply Planning involvement
  • Create the purchase plan to suppliers and the Truckload Building (TLB) to ensure inventory is available to fulfill member’s demand 
  • Create/maintain fair share member's allocation and work with Members Services on members order fulfillment 

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Four-year college degree preferred in economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, business administration or equivalent

Skills:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Acumen of Supply Planning concepts
  • Ability to apply conceptual processes to real life situations
  • High attention to detail
  • Analytical skills necessary to create and understand reports and apply them to what-if scenarios

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to become expert user in forecasting software and SAP IBP environment
  • Working knowledge and use of SAP IBP tool

Other qualifications:

  • Able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Capable to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with people at all levels, including member personnel
  • Ability to use, or learn to use, Topco business systems
  • Public speaking/presentation training skills desirable
  • Able to interpret industry data and make business decisions under supervision
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations on a regular basis

 

Previous Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a Supply Chain Management environment
  • 1-2 years (minimum) purchasing, procurement, retail operations, and/or related industry experience

Salary Range

$65,000 - $75,000/annually
