Overview

Topco Associates is currently seeking an Accounts Receivables Team Lead for the Treasury and Finance team in Itasca, IL. This position will be a hybrid role, with the successful candidate conducting work in our Itasca office three times per week and virtual twice per week.

 

The basic purpose of this position is to ensure accuracy and postings of all cash application and billings are completed.  Communicates with Topco suppliers and works with Topco procurement associates to collect and resolve disputed open receivables for non-member Customers while promoting the delivery of optimal accounting services to all customers. Work on special projects in all areas of Accounts Receivable. 

Responsibilities

Cash Application

  • Apply all incoming cash exceptions to relevant invoices/customer account for the purpose of clearing open A/R items (invoices, residual items, etc.)
  • Entry of necessary postings to auto cash applied items that require correction.
  • Ensure all cash is applied correctly and make any necessary corrections to incorrectly applied cash.
  • Contact the necessary party to obtain appropriate information on how the incoming cash needs to be applied.
  • Maintain and update database of member/customer payment method, member/customer payment auto match rate and any relevant data needed to optimize cash application process.
  • Create and generate necessary reporting to present to Management of automated cash application metrics.
  • Provide analytical input to Manager on increasing match rate and optimizing post-processing efficiencies.

Billing Analysis

  • Ensure all billings create an accounting document with the relevant A/R posting.
  • Ensure all billings are generated and sent to the Member/Customer
  • Generate the necessary query/report to identify instances where a vendor invoice has posted with no corresponding member/customer billing.
  • Contact the necessary party (i.e., IT, Member Services, Programs, A/P, etc.) to request that the required action be taken to create the billing document.
  • Reverse any billings as necessary and attach appropriate supporting documentation to the transaction to justify the reversal.
  • Responsible for resolving all billing questions/issues/inquiries.
  • Generate special billings ensuring appropriate documentation is received.

Special Projects

  • Reports - Create and generate A/R reports.
  • Ad hoc projects - Participate and generate required deliverable for any ad hoc A/R projects requested by Management

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • 4-year College Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Technical Skills:

  • Accounts Receivables background
  • Some SAP experience preferred but not required.
  • Organized
  • Self starter
  • Independent
  • Excellent written/oral communication
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel

Previous Experience:

  • 2 years of A/R and/or A/P Customer Service experience

Other Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, research, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to details, high level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.
