    Topco Associates is currently seeking an Associate Manager, Sourcing Analytics for the Center Store team in Elk Grove Village, IL. 

     

    This Associate Manager is responsible for executing the day-to-day P&A solutions strategy for the assigned products and categories in such a manner as to grow Topco program sales and enhance the profitability and competitive position of member companies.  Additional responsibilities include supporting ad-hoc initiatives and Member projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Supports Center Store (CS) and Sourcing Analytics group strategies and goals. Create detailed data-driven business reviews and recommendations focused on procurement/sourcing execution.   
    • Supports Senior Manager to develop, standardize, implement and continuously improve a best-in-class strategic procurement process.
    • As defined by the Sourcing Excellence Process and CS needs, provide support in annual planning, supplier selection, and supplier management process.
    • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

    Sourcing Strategy

    1. Supports the development of a sustainable Center Store (CS) strategic sourcing methodology that drives high value procurement outcomes.
    2. Partners with Category and Sourcing Managers to develop actionable Sourcing Strategies and Negotiation Plans in accordance with the Category Business Plans (CBP).
    3. Creates effective negotiation strategies in support of Topco’s aggregate sourcing events and category reviews.
    4. Identifies value drivers and defines opportunities to increase the return on supply management assets.
    5. Manages RFX events, provides training to suppliers on Topco sourcing practices, and promotes effective communication with suppliers.

    Analytics

    1. Conducts complex what-if scenario optimization analysis, collaborative and conditional biding.
    2. Generates total cost analysis, should-cost models, cost regression analysis, alternative and benchmarking studies.
    3. Presents actionable business and award opportunities to stakeholders that provide the highest potential value.
    4. Manages reporting tools and generates scorecards and dashboards.

    Project Management

    1. Generates and manages e-sourcing system projects, tasks, notifications and communications.
    2. Responds to inquiries and conducts research to resolve problems to issues.
    3. Demonstrates strong project management skills to effectively collaborate with other departments and drive resolution of the day-to-day operational issues related to category and sourcing activities.
    4. Facilitates regularly scheduled project status meetings to discuss timelines, challenges, develop solutions, etc. with the necessary project participants. Manages projects in tracking system.
    5. Works to improve process and gain desired results with an emphasis on on-time delivery of executive summaries.

    Qualifications

    Success in this role includes excellent analytic skills, judgment, and communication skills. The candidate needs to be able to create complex sourcing/negotiation strategies, extract insights from data, and clearly communicate appropriate recommendations, triggers and actions.

     

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree required in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or other related quantitative discipline.
    • 4+ years of relevant work experience in supply chain, procurement, planning, manufacturing, finance or related field.

    Technical skills:

    • 3+ years of experience with supply chain modeling, cost modeling, and other statistical analysis tools (optimization tools, regression models, etc.).
    • Proven ability to analyze situations and data to develop creative strategies and solutions.
    • Advanced knowledge of relational database structure (tables, joins, queries, indexing).
    • Ability to synthesize and manage complex data sources and structures.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite at an advanced level.

    Other qualifications:

    • Work experience with strategic sourcing practices and procurement negotiations.
    • Creative with well-developed analytic skills capable of providing solutions in projects that may not have one clear answer.
    • Proven ability to influence decisions and reach goals in cross-functional team settings.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others, both orally and in writing, and to make presentations to small and large groups.
    • Ability to interact with others at different organizational levels on a daily basis.
    • Able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment while balancing project activities with daily work.
    • Experience with project management practices and tools.
    • Adapts to change easily.
    • Self-motivated.
    • Travel: up to 15%.
