    Topco Associates is currently seeking an Associate Sales Development Manager for the National Brands team in Elk Grove Village, IL.


    Under general supervision, the Associate Sales Development Manager will expand the Topco National Brands program volume with new manufacturer partners and across new channels, programming or initiatives.


    • Assist and secure new manufacturer business through effective delivery of Topco National Brands value proposition. Primary focus against maximizing overall sales volume and negotiating aggressive volume incentives
    • Grow and expand the business from previous year. This includes the development of new programs, innovative marketing, merchandising and sales volume generating initiatives and the acquisition of incremental volume incentives
    • Work in a collaborative manner with the Topco Retail Development Manager to insure the accurate communication and execution of all key program elements to Topco retailers and wholesalers
    • Ensure the effective and seamless transition of new on boarded business to the appropriate Topco Sales Development Manager
    • Liaison for Topco National Brands in developing internal business building initiatives including partnerships with Topco Marketing and other Topco Programs
    • Utilize and leverage category data/insights to develop profitable solutions and conduct post event analysis with manufacturer partners to validate success of programs and to accelerate the on boarding of new programs
    • Create, develop and continuously refine visible Program sales cycle components, external marketing and communications strategy, tactics and scorecard to ensure progression
    • Deliver annual sales plan, volume incentive and productivity objectives
    • All other duties as assigned



    A four-year degree in Business Administration or related subject


    Technical skills:

    Proficient in the use of professional business software; Excel, Word and PowerPoint


    Previous Experience/Knowledge:

    • CPG industry: Headquarter role (Customer Marketing, Sales Strategy or Market Development role), Account roles (direct responsibility calling on a retailer or wholesaler account managing trade, promotions), Execution role (Sales Manager)
    • Retail industry: Grocery experience, merchandising/category manager role
    • Broker industry: Manager – Acosta, Advantage, Crossmark or similar.
    • 4 (four) years’ experience working with a major manufacturer in sales or related field.

     Other Qualifications:

    • Persuasive communication / presentation skills (both written and verbal) required.
    • Ability to penetrate, network and navigate at multiple levels within various CPG structures.
    • Knowledge in using syndicated data IRI, Nielsen, etc.
    • Self-starter.
    • Ability to travel at ~35%
