    Topco Associates is currently seeking a Brand Manager for the Marketing team in Elk Grove Village, IL.

     

    Under the direction of the Senior Brand Manager, the Brand Manager is responsible for the successful planning, development and marketing efforts for a particular brand or brands. The Brand Manager will work with the business units, product suppliers, and relevant functional areas to develop new items and manage product assortment within their brand scope.  The Brand Manager will need to partner and support the Business Units to ensure alignment with brand positioning across the entire portfolio.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Steward of assigned brand/brands; supports the brand promise, brand vision, brand position, brand architecture and achieves overall short-term and long-term business goals for the brand/brands.
    1. Engages, inspires and galvanizes the organization around the brand vision, position and strategies so they are clear in bringing them to life in their areas of functional expertise.
    1. Creates and commercializes brand strategies for all brands within assigned tier, especially packaging.
    1. Develop full business case and rationale for new brand development inclusive of retail landscape, category landscape, size of prize, ROI, resources and investment, timelines & promotional strategy.
    1. Identify category/market opportunities for new brands and develop business case to support recommendations.
    1. Project manage the creation of a brand from ideation to implementation at store shelf.
    1. Develop brand communication materials related to: new brand launches, new category launches within brands, Promotional events and overall brand awareness
    1. Works collaboratively with Creative Services to execute packaging designs consistent with a determined communications hierarchy and a global style guide.
    1. Maintain and update brand and tier strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to communicate regularly to the business units.
    1. Regularly conduct field market brand analysis
    1. Partner with Market Intelligence on consumer research to identify brand success and opportunities
    1. Present brand strategies to members and facilitate Member Advisory Committees for select brands/tiers.
    1. Conducts analysis and periodical reviews of the brand, competitive, category, customer and consumer trends to enhance the brand’s equity and marketplace performance.
    1. Collaborates with Business Units and the Creative Services team to create customer-specific point-of-purchase plans and digital marketing tools.
    1. Recruit, select and develop associate/s, providing timely feedback, appropriate challenges, and opportunities for growth
    1. Ability to assess direct reports’ strengths and opportunities, and develop appropriate actions to improve performance.
    1. Ability to train and develop direct report/s, optimizing individual capabilities and building the ability for advancement
    1. All other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education:

    • BA/BS in Marketing, General Business or related field or equivalent experience.
    • MBA preferred

    Technical skills:

    Microsoft office suite, Apollo, Salesforce.com, Nielsen, IRI and experience with SAP/Oracle or an equivalent

     

    Previous Experience:

    Minimum 5 years of cross-functional commercial experience (sales, marketing, activation, product management, etc.) in a business to business or a business to consumer industry.

     

    Other qualifications:

    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
    • Expertise in syndicated data analysis with the ability to draw action oriented conclusions.
    • Product Management experience.
    • A team player having the ability to interact and influence effectively in a matrix organization.
    • Passion for creating world-class brand solutions that delight customers and deliver significant business results.
    • Enthusiastic, willing to learn and evolve in a challenging environment.
    • High level of self-motivation/initiative.
    • Results oriented; ability to deliver on commitments and follow through.
    • Previous supervisory experience.
